What makes summer more enjoyable than art and music and gardens?
The Augusta County Historical Society and Heifetz International Music Institute bring them all together this summer with an event you will not want to miss.
An exhibit comprised of approximately 50 original botanicals from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, including works by Basilius Besler, Elizabeth Blackwell, Christopher Hills, and Friedrich Bertuch will run from June through August, 2016. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
As part of the exhibit, students and alumni from the Heifetz International Music Institute will perform a series of concerts representing the various periods. Not only will these performances be conducted in the gallery, but music will fill the Memorial Garden that was opened at the R.R. Smith Center just over a year ago.
