AUGUSTA COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY SPRING MEETING

Dale Wheary, the curator and director of the historical collections and programs at Maymont in Richmond will be presenting a program on James and Sallie Dooley and their summer estate — Swannanoa.

James Dooley was the builder of Swannanoa and of Maymont in Richmond. Mrs. Dooley had family connections in Staunton. Dale is an expert on this topic and her paper on the Dooleys and the building of Swannanoa will be published in the upcoming issue of the  Augusta Historical Society Bulletin.
