Historian Sam Biggers will present The Gravel Wall Building Craze in Augusta County at the Fall Meeting.
His talk will focus on this unique Augusta County building material that was popular during the second half of the 19th century. Used in both commercial and residential structures, the technique featured a mixture of sand, pebbles, lime and water to construct the outer shell of buildings.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Light refreshments served immediately following the meeting.
